These terms cover ordering and using a Subtone reading. By placing an order you agree to them. If anything is unclear, email the.subtone@outlook.com before you buy.

What Subtone is

Subtone is a written reading of what your music taste reflects about you — careful, interpretive attention to your listening. It is made for reflection and enjoyment. It is not therapy, medical, psychological, or professional advice, and it is not science. Please don’t rely on it as a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional.

Ordering and payment

A reading costs $29 (USD), paid at checkout through Stripe. Your order is confirmed once payment is complete. Prices may change for future orders, but the price you paid is the price for your reading.

What you give us

To create your reading you’ll share a playlist (such as your Spotify “On Repeat”) and a short questionnaire. You confirm that you’re entitled to share what you send and that your answers are your own. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.

Delivery

We aim to deliver your reading within five days of receiving your playlist and questionnaire. It includes an eleven-page reading, a few visuals, and one included follow-up question. Timelines may occasionally shift; we’ll let you know if so.

Refunds

During the launch period, if you’re not happy with your reading we’ll refund you, no questions asked — just email us from the address you ordered with. We may end or change this guarantee for future orders, but it always applies to orders placed while it’s in effect.

Your reading and its use

Your reading is written for you and your personal use. You’re welcome to share the visuals and quote from it. Subtone keeps ownership of its underlying methods, templates, and approach. Please don’t resell readings or present them as your own commercial product.

Acceptable use

Please don’t misuse the site or service — for example by trying to break it, submitting someone else’s private information without permission, or using it unlawfully.

Disclaimers and liability

Subtone is provided “as is.” A reading is one interpretation, offered in good faith; we don’t guarantee any particular outcome or that you’ll agree with it. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here removes rights you have that can’t be waived under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [your country / state], and any disputes will be handled by the courts there. (Subtone: set this to your home jurisdiction before launch.)

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top reflects the latest version. The terms in effect when you ordered apply to that order.
